Το Πολυτεχνείο Κρήτης υποδέχεται την Επικ. Καθηγήτρια Bilguunmaa Myagmardulam από το Πανεπιστήμιο Toyama Prefectural University της Ιαπωνίας, το χρονικό διάστημα 11-15 Μαΐου 2026, στο πλαίσιο της Διεθνούς Κινητικότητας του Προγράμματος Erasmus+ και της Διιδρυματικής συνεργασίας, που έχει υπογράψει το Πολυτεχνείο Κρήτης με το Πανεπιστήμιο της Toyama.
Η Επ. Καθ. Bilguunmaa Myagmardulam θα πραγματοποιήσει διάλεξη, την Πέμπτη14 Μαΐου 2026 και ώρα 17.00 - 18.00, στην αίθουσα Μ5.002, με τίτλο:
“Applications of Satellite Remote Sensing for Environmental Monitoring”

Bilguunmaa Myagmardulam is an Assistant Professor at Toyama Prefectural University, Japan, holding a PhD from Nagaoka University of Technology (2022) with a focus on drone communication systems and remote sensing. She completed her Master's in Civil and Environmental Engineering, also at Nagaoka, and her Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, where her early work centered on air pollution mapping using satellite data. Her research spans UAV-LiDAR forest modeling, radio wave propagation, machine learning for environmental monitoring, and mobile mapping systems, with applications ranging from snow depth estimation to soil pollution assessment. She is a recipient of the 2024 Green Asia Award from the Asian Association on Remote Sensing and has published in journals including IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society and the Asian Journal of Geoinformatics, with conference presentations at venues including IGARSS and the UN General Assembly Science Summit. She is an active member of IEEE GRSS, the Japan Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, and the Remote Sensing Society of Japan.
